about the paul horton visuals team

We are a film and photography production studio focused on representing the authenticity in stories and of their subjects.

We have over 25 combined years of creating films and photography with a focus on honest, impactful stories.

We are based out of central Connecticut with teams located in Boston and Brooklyn.

We understand how to work efficiently and respectively in various environments because we primarily spend our time outside of traditional studio spaces.

Some of our notable education clients include: The University of Connecticut, Wesleyan University, UCONN Health, Trinity College, Lesley University, University of New Haven, Goodwin College, Choate Rosemary Hall, Northfield Mount Hermon, Loomis Chaffee, Cheshire Academy, Hotchkiss and more.

sample work

Below are samples that give a variety of styles we have employed for stories based in education. The Samsung Flip Case Study video may relate the closest to this project in terms of blending interviews and b-roll with a focus on the success of a technology component.

Project plan

The following is how we will approach the creation of this video

Once the project is approved, we will confirm the filming date.

Before the filming date, we will work with EverTrue to confirm all details regarding interview questions, schedules and a general shot list.

Our director will work with the talent to provide a comfortable environment where the talent can speak genuinely on camera.

Interviews will be shot with 2 cameras to provide opportunities to cut between angles as well as increase visual engagement for the audience.

B-roll will include moments that relate to the topics being discussed and will be filmed in a way that looks and feels natural.

We will deliver a first cut of the video within two weeks of filming for initial feedback regarding the story and general feel of the video.

We plan for two total rounds of feedback for the video before finalizing it for delivery.

Optional Photography

We are able to offer additional photography services during the filming day.

If EverTrue is revamping their website and would like more imagery to incorporate with their case study or in other places on their website, this is something that we could explore.

We have conducted this approach in several projects such as the Samsung Flip Case Study as seen above, where we were able to simultaneously capture b-roll and photos.

If photography is of interest, we would also confirm a general shot list before the filming day.

Budget breakdown

The following is an estimate based on the approach described above. Photography is included in the total cost, however this can be removed if there is no need for photography.
